
Paddle and Saddle

<p>Maximum fun in one action-packed day! In the morning, go riding along the secluded trails of the Rio Grande Gorge. You'll ride on well-trained horses through the pinon and juniper, on trails that may be visible only to your guide. You may see elk, deer, and other wildlife in this wild country, with incredible views stretching in all directions. After a hearty deli style buffet run the Racecourse section of the legendary Rio Grande, with its many class 3 rapids (class 4 in high water; see the <a href="https://losriosriverrunners.com/trip_detail/4">Racecourse</a> page for further details)</p>
<p>No experience necessary for either rafting or riding. Horses are available to suit all levels of ability.</p>
<p><strong>RECOMMENDED MINIMUM AGE:</strong> 10, or on a case-by-case basis.</p>
<p><strong>WEIGHT LIMIT:</strong> 200 lbs.</p>
<p><strong>MEET:</strong> 9.30 a.m., Cieneguilla Stables (Hwy 68 in Pilar, around mile 29). Return to your vehicle 4.30-5 p.m.</p>
<p><strong>SEASON:</strong> Mid-April 15 to mid-October. Available 7 days a week.</p>
<p><strong>PRICE: </strong>Price depends on which horseback outfitter you choose and the length of your ride. $162 with Cieneguilla Stables in Pilar, for a 2-hour ride. Does not include tax and federal user fee. Group discount available.</p>
<p><strong>WE PROVIDE:</strong> All rafting and safety equipment including life-jacket, helmet if desired, waterproof jacket and pants, transportation to and from meeting place. Wetsuit rental $10. Neoprene booties rental $5. Please bring your own riding helmet and gloves, if desired. </p>
