White Rock 2 Day

The White Rock Canyon section of the Rio Grande, south of Los Alamos, is remote and hard to access, with basalt canyon walls towering 1500 feet above the river. We float approximately 25 miles through the lands of San Ildefonso and Cochiti Pueblos and Bandelier National Monument. The river is mostly flat, with three Class 3 rapids. The riverbanks are dotted with numerous ancient petroglyphs and Anasazi Indian ruins - some are easily reached, while others require challenging hikes.

At the end of the trip you can ride in the boat as it is towed across Cochiti Lake.
